This post was first featured at ABS during the QUEEN OF HEARTS blog tour on May 5, 2016. I thought you might like to see it again as we review the book during A Week of Wonderland!

A new Wonderland book!! And this time, villains are rising!

And that cover! Be still my beating heart, THAT COVER!!!!!!
#SoObsessed

The book is really coming out at a perfect time, too. The new movie Alice Through the Looking Glass comes out at the end of the month [now on DVD...and I talk about it today over here!] and everyone will be looking for Wonderland-influenced books! I think QUEEN OF HEARTS will sell quite a few copies!!! Especially because that cover will make everyone pick it up to see what it's about!!!!!!

To celebrate the release of this exciting series,
I've decided to plan a delicious Mad Tea Party for you all today.

But...how do you dress for a Mad Tea Party?

Jewelry

I have so much fun Wonderland-themed jewelry that I found on Etsy!

I'd seen a magazine ad with a Drink Me necklace and HAD to have one. I fussed around on Etsy until I found one I liked!!!

There are so many choices, but I liked this bottle, label, and writing style best.

In a different necklace, I didn't like the bottle as much, but loved the clay cookie and queried the seller about buying the charm on its own:

I bought a charm with a playing card on it from Hobby Lobby (along with a bunch of other charms for a necklace, which I'll talk about in a minute).

My mom's hobby is making jewelry, so she took the pieces and made an awesome necklace for me!

(Unfortunately, I can't show you the final product because she has it because she's putting a special protector on the label so it doesn't fade as I wear it!!!)

I also bought a couple of awesome rings on Etsy that are Wonderland themed:

(The playing card on this ring also needs special protector so it doesn't curl!)

 and:

This one was disappointing, though, because they sell the same charm at Hobby Lobby,
and the ring wasn't welded well, so it broke after a couple of wearings.
I'm not a welder, so I don't know how to fix it!

I saw A LOT of different earrings I liked. Ultimately, it came down to a design from one seller--and I had two image choices! I just...COULD NOT DECIDE. I emailed the seller and asked if I could buy one of each and was told YES.

Etsy really is great because you can customize what you want!!!

I couldn't finish without a bracelet!!!

I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a bunch of charms, which my mom turned into this for me:

Nail Polish

You know me...I LOVE nail polish!

I'm always on Pinterest looking for fun ways to show off my digits.

If my nails didn't all break last week and become short and gross, I would have AT THE VERY LEAST matched my nails to QUEEN OF HEARTS' amazing cover!!!

This is what I was planning:

*a white base
*a black gradient using the sponge approach
* a little glitter in the gradient
*Red sequin hearts placed strategically
(And maybe some gunmetal diamonds?)

For a more traditional Wonderland look,
here are some of my favorite designs that I've been gathering
on Pinterest for my Mad Tea Party:

(AKA, my nails better be long again so I can doll them up for when I see Alice Through the Looking Glass at the end of the month!!!)

(Some of these I could NEVER do because I'm not an artist, but they're SO PRETTY!!!!)

Clothing

You've done your nails and you've gotten your jewelry, so all that's left is GETTING DRESSED!!!

Wonderland-inspired clothing is easier to find than ever before. You can buy shirts and dresses at Hot Topic and Torrid.

Available now at Hot Topic!
Limited Edition Outfits available NOW at Torrid!

You can get stuff from the Disney Store. You can try Etsy. Heck, you could even doll up a blue dress on your own or grab a Japanese Lolita dress!

Lolita dress from Etsy

As for me, I went simple:

I'm a huge fan of Disney Funko Pop and snagged the Limited Edition Mad Hatter shirt that came out last year:

Hats

You can NOT go to a Mad Tea Party if you're not decked out in a crazy hat!
Especially because, you know...there is a certain character in QUEEN OF HEARTS who is obsessed with hats!!!

Here are a few I found on Pinterest and Etsy
(For those of  you looking for something RIGHT NOW!) :

What will you wear to our
Mad Tea Party!?
